LENOX, Mass. – This season, Shakespeare & Company has partnered up with SoCo Creamery to offer Shakespeare & SoCo’s Full Flavor Five: five, original Shakespeare-inspired flavors created by Erik Bruun, owner of SoCo Creamery.

These four ice creams and one sorbet made their debut at Shakespeare & Company’s Sapphire Gala this June, with names and flavors inspired by Romeo & Juliet, Henry V, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Hamlet.

In addition, each ice-cream cup features custom, Bard-centric labels designed by Lisa Cavender of LN Designs, and a QR code on its bottom that leads not only to an ingredients list, but also Shakespearean scenes that inspired each flavor, and photos from past performances of those plays at Shakespeare & Company, currently celebrating 45 years of theater in the Berkshires.

Anyone enjoying a Shakespeare & SoCo interactive cup is welcomed to share photos and videos with their ice cream or sorbets on social media, using the hashtag #sweetshakespeare. Participants will be eligible to win Shakespeare & Company or SoCo Creamery merch for their entries.

The Full Flavor Five (a moniker borrowed from the Shakespearean song Full Fathom Five, from The Tempest), are now being sold as a concessions item at Josie’s Place, Shakespeare & Company’s full-service bar at the Tina Packer Playhouse, and at SoCo Creamery in Great Barrington, Mass. The flavors include:

Courage, inspired by Henry V: Spiced Coffee, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Clove

Desire, inspired by Romeo & Juliet, Act I: Marzipan, dates, and orange zest

Magic, inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Blackberry, Lemon, and Thyme

Passion, inspired by Romeo & Juliet, Act II: Lemon, Rosewater, and Thyme

Remembrance, inspired by Hamlet: Strawberry, Rosemary, and Shortbread
