Shakespeare & Company presents an open–captioned performance of Hamlet, featuring the Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare.
The Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare unleashes the dark and powerful tale of Shakespeare’s Hamlet: a story full of mystery, revenge, and tough choices about truth and loyalty, Hamlet follows its titular character as he learns that his uncle killed his father, the King, and now wears the crown.
Open captioning features a large projection screen above the stage, displaying the text the actors are reciting via “supertitles.” These shows are open to all, and accessible to Deaf or hard-of-hearing audience members.
Sensory-friendly performances are adapted to create a more welcoming theater experience for individuals with sensory sensitivities, including people who are neurodivergent and first-time theatergoers. These performances may include reduced lighting and sound, pre-show guides, and a relaxed atmosphere where movement and noise are welcome. These shows are open to all patrons.
