Shakespeare & Company Remounts its Mash-up of Shakespeare and Rock ‘n’ Roll

Shakespeare & Company’s Center for Actor Training will host a 9-Day Intensive at its Lenox campus from Wednesday, August 20, through Friday, August 29. 

Shakespeare & Company invites actors, directors, physical theater artists, and Shakespeare lovers to take part in Devising Shakespeare: Creating New Work From Old Wit, a dynamic, weekend-long laboratory workshop led by Director of Training Sheila Bandyopadhyay from Friday, July 11 through Sunday, July 13, at the Shakespeare & Company campus in the Berkshires.

On Thursday, June 19, Shakespeare & Company opens Season 2025 with the World Premiere of The Victim by Lawrence Goodman, directed by Daniel Gidron.

Through interconnected monologues, three women — a doctor, a home healthcare aide, and a Holocaust survivor — present their claim to be the true victims of injustice. Throughout the play, several uncomfortable questions are raised: has DEI gone too far? How do you rank whose oppression and suffering matter most? How is the memory of the Holocaust used and abused? Can we ever hope to overcome our differences?

Shakespeare & Company announces its second-annual Community Day, a free, family-friendly celebration on Saturday, May 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shakespeare & Company campus in Lenox.

Shakespeare & Company has announced its 2025 Summer Shakespeare Intensive, providing actors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the works of Shakespeare during our vibrant summer performance season.

The Summer Shakespeare Intensive is modeled after the internationally acclaimed January Month-long Intensive and designed for undergraduate theater students, recent graduates, and early-career acting professionals. This year’s session will take place May 28 – June 22 and run for four weeks, six days a week, offering classes in Linklater Voice Work,  Monologue and Scene Work, Play and Stage Fight, Movement and Dance, the Actor-Audience Relationship, and more.

This spring, Shakespeare & Company invites actors of all backgrounds and experience levels to take a bold, hilarious leap into the world of Clown with Clowning For Actors, a three-day workshop led by renowned faculty member and master clown teacher Michael F. Toomey.
