Registration for Shakespeare & Company’s Riotous Youth summer theater programs for students ages 7* through 15 is now open for 2026. The one-, two-, and three-week sessions invite young actors to explore Shakespeare’s language, characters, and stories through imaginative, playful, and active theater-making.

Sessions run June 29 through August 14, offering participants the chance to build confidence, collaborate with peers, and bring Shakespeare’s worlds to life. For details on each session, including dates and tuition, visit shakespeare.org/education/riotous-youth.

Shakespeare & Company’s traditional winter show returns this year with Sense & Sensibility by Kate Hamill, a fast-paced, staged reading wherein the wit and romance of Jane Austen’s classic tale come to life. This year, the Austen-inspired production coincides with her 250th birthday on December 16. 

Austen & Afternoon Tea includes an 11:30 a.m. talk at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre about the author and Sense & Sensibility in particular – a nod to Shakespeare & Company’s lively, winter reading of Sense & Sensibility by Kate Hamill, based on Austen’s novel and playing December 12 – 14.

Shakespeare & Company is set to become the new home to six sculptures created by renowned philanthropist and sculptor Harold Grinspoon. 

Slated for installation in late November, these sculptures will be placed at Shakespeare & Company’s 33-acre campus in Lenox, Mass. Two will grace Kemble Street, a well-trafficked and pedestrian-friendly section of Lenox’s Cultural District, and four more along the drive at the entrance. The sites were chosen by the artist, and the works will remain on loan at the property until November 2030.

Shakespeare & Company has announced a $50,000 “Fill the Quill” Match Challenge to benefit the Fall Festival of Shakespeare.

Casting has been announced and routes are being planned for Shakespeare & Company’s Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare, hitting the road to present Hamlet, directed by Kevin G. Coleman, February 10 – May 1.

Shakespeare & Company Presents 37th Fall Festival of Shakespeare November 20 – 23

Semester Cinema, an educational film intensive produced in collaboration with Kingdom County Productions, will show its 2022 historical indie film epic, Lost Nation, on November 7th at 7pm at the Shakespeare & Company Elayne P. Bernstein Theater – to celebrate the program’s upcoming move to Lenox. A Q&A with the film’s director, Jay Craven, will follow the film.

Shakespeare & Company has announced that Development Operations and Database Manager Liam Castellan has been recognized in the 2025 Blackbaud Impact Awards, which celebrate organizations and people achieving results and driving impact with technology from Blackbaud, the leading provider of software for powering social impact. 

Castellan won the Rising Star Award in recognition of his technical skills and strategic vision, which, according to Blackbaud’s assessment, “positions him as an emerging leader who elevates the entire organization’s effectiveness.”
