Shakespeare & Company brings Hamlet—Shakespeare’s gripping story of grief, conscience, and the cost of action—to the Tina Packer Playhouse August 13 through 30 in the Berkshires, directed by Ariel Bock and featuring 2026 Helen Hayes Award-winner David Gow (The Inheritance: Part 1 & Part 2) in the title role.
Bock calls the play “a rare and unique gem.”
“It’s a diamond so beautifully cut that the light glints off of it differently each time we look at it, hold it, dream of it, or think about it,” she said. “It’s a tragedy of course, set in times as troubled as our own, and yet to me it never seems gloomy, but optimistic.”
The cast includes A.J. Baldwin, Jonathan Epstein, Yaala Muller, “ranney”, Eddie Shields, J. Austyn Williamson, and Kristin Wold, with Stage Manager Josh Rodrigues, Assistant Stage Manager Grace Goosman, Scenic Designer Omid Akbari, Sound Designer Brendan F Doyle, Lighting Designer Erika Johnson, and Costume Designer Arthur Wilson.
