David Sorkin is a Senior Advisory Partner at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (KKR). From 2007 through 2023, he served as KKR’s General Counsel and then Chief Legal Officer. Before joining KKR, David was a partner in the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

David is the Director of the Harvard Transactional Law Workshop and a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School.

David also serves as President of the Board of Directors of New Alternatives for Children, Inc., a non-profit healthcare and social services agency that works ex- clusively with children with complex medical needs and their families.

David is a graduate of Williams College and Harvard Law School. From 1984 to 1985, he clerked for the Hon. Charles M. Merrill of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco.

He is married to Amy Davidson Sorkin, and they have three adult children.
