David Sorkin is the Director of the Harvard Transactional Law Workshop and a Visiting Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School.
From 2007 to 2023, David served as General Counsel and then Chief Legal Officer of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR). Before joining KKR, David was a partner in the law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
David also serves as President of the Board of Directors of New Alternatives for Children, Inc., a non-profit healthcare and social welfare agency that works exclusively with children with complex medical needs and their families.
David is a graduate of Williams College and Harvard Law School.
He is married to Amy Davidson Sorkin and they have three adult children.
