Shakespeare & Company’s original work Circus & The Bard, created by Allyn Burrows, Robin Eldridge, and Pedro Reis, returns to the Tina Packer Playhouse July 16–26—pairing professional circus acts with Shakespeare’s verse.

Shakespeare & Company’s Center for Actor Training has announced the return of its 9-Day Intensive at its campus in the Berkshires from Wednesday, August 27, through Friday, September 5.

Designed for mid-career actors, educators, directors, and others seeking professional and artistic development, the 9-Day Intensive: The Foundation is inspired by the content of Shakespeare & Company’s signature Month-long Intensive and offers participants an opportunity to immerse themselves in Shakespeare training, as well as make connections with like-minded artists in a robust, accessible format.

Shakespeare & Company has announced the cast of Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, directed by Kate Kohler Amory. Twelfth Night, often regarded as one of Shakespeare’s most playful romantic comedies, will be performed outdoors July 4 through 26 at 7 p.m. at Shakespeare & Company’s Arthur S. Waldstein Amphitheatre, recently named one of Newsweek’s Top 10 Outdoor Theater Venues in the U.S.

Shakespeare & Company Announces Budding Bards: Free Ticket Offer for Youth

Shakespeare & Company has announced the cast of its Season 2026 opener, Fireflies by Matthew Barber, directed by Daniela Varon. 

Slated to preview June 19 and 20 with a Sunday, June 21 opening at  2 p.m., Fireflies runs through July 19 and marks Shakespeare & Company’s first production of a Barber play in 20 years, having staged Enchanted April in 2006.

Barbara Waldinger, PhD, Adjunct Professor of Theatre, Director, and Theatre Critic, is helming the OLLI Players’ staged reading of Sinclair Lewis’s It Can’t Happen Here (a 1930s novel and play adapted in 2017 by Tony Taccone and Bennett S. Cohen). The

Big Table Productions is excited to host a Fundraiser For Good: A reading of It Can’t Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis on Friday April 17 at 8 p.m., at the Tina Packer Playhouse at Shakespeare & Company.

As a novel written in 1936, the 2016 theatrical adaptation by Tony Taccone and Bennett S. Cohen tells the story of a Vermont newspaper editor caught in the whirlwind election of a larger-than-life Presidential candidate, Buzz Windrip. Brash, bold, charming, and funny, Buzz takes the White House and then the country by storm. Minute Men are deployed throughout the nation to enforce order. Lockdowns commence. Martial law is declared. And then, the citizens begin to respond.
