Sandra Bourgeois

Trustee

Sandra Bourgeois (Sandy) graduated from Vassar College and has a Master’s Degree in African Studies from UCLA. After teaching high school social studies in New York for 6 years, she switched careers and worked in IT for 30 years as a programmer, project manager and testing specialist. She worked at Aetna and MassMutual and retired in 2011. 

Sandy first got involved in the non-profit world at Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, CT, first as a guide and then Director of Development. After retiring from IT in 2011, she has volunteered as Chairman of the Gift Shop, a member of the Gardens Crew and with the Oral History/Archives Project at Shakespeare & Company, and as a guide at Pigeon Key and a gardener and Board member at Marathon Garden Club in the Florida Keys. For her class of 1969 at Vassar, she is Outreach Chair and has been active on the Fund Committee for 15 years.

Sandy was President of the Volunteers at Shakespeare & Company from fall of 2015 to fall of 2017, and as such served ex officio on the Board of Trustees for the Company. She was elected as a member of the Board of Trustees in August 2017.
