Michelle Hathaway holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in Costume Design and Technology from Louisiana State University. She spent a year working in the Disney Costume Shop as a patternmaker, and a year in the Colonial Williamsburg as a stitcher. She comes to Shakespeare & Company from a 22 year teaching career where she taught costume construction, millinery, painting and dying, patternmaking and draping. She has helped produce costumes for more than 100 productions. Her design credits include A Cry of Players, Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi, Carrie the Musical, The Coronation of Poppea, Peter Pan, The Producers, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Hairspray the Musical, and 42nd Street.
